The French took advantage of Greek mythology and borrowed from it the name Cleo who was the Muse of History, daughter of Zeus and responsible for the development of the Fine Arts in Ancient Greece. This is how they named Renault's supermini car, Clio which we first saw in June 1990 and is now in its 5th generation.
It has been awarded "car of the year" twice. The Clio in Japan was renamed the Lutecia as the Clio name is copyrighted by Honda there.
Renault Thalia
Another proof that the French read Greek mythology and really like it, is the existence of Thalia. Thalia is Renault's small sedan that takes its name from Greek mythology. According to her Thalia was one of the nine Muses, the daughter of Memory and Zeus and was the patroness of gaiety.
Her name came from the verb I'm cheering I will, which means sprout abundantly, flourish richly, thrive.
Perhaps this was also the dream of its manufacturers, to "thrive" on the streets of Europe and beyond. Thalia started its career in 1999, but not with such great success in our country. But it is certainly one of the top models in the small category.
Nissan Purple
Violetta! A name derived from the Violetta or Menexes plant. The Nissan Violet first appeared in Japan in 1973 and was discontinued in 1992. It was released around the world under different names, in multiple generations and multiple body styles. The first generation (1973-1977) is known as the 710 Series and was sold as the Nissan Violet in Japan and the Datsun 710 in the US. In other countries it was known as Datsun 710 or Datsun 160J. Violet was her most successful car Nissan in World Rally Championship. In particular, it dominated the Safari Rally from 1979 to 1982. While in Greece we admired it on its special routes Acropolis Rally with Giorgos Moschou as driver.

Its production finally ended in 2021, while a total of 35.124 copies of the Elise were built.
Skoda Felicia
Let us introduce you to.. Felicia! It was a small and medium family car produced by the Czech car manufacturer Skoda Auto. It first appeared in September 1994 to very positive reviews and had a great commercial appeal in almost all of Europe. The latest Felicia was the first model developed after Škoda joined the Volkswagen Group in 1991.
Until June 20, 2001 when its production stopped, they were produced conversationally 1,4 million copies of the Felicia series. It was an important model for improving the prestige and recognition of Skoda Auto since Felicia, among others, had an excellent value/price ratio and was the first Skoda model to "wear" ABS, airbags and a diesel engine.
Nissan silvia
The name “Silvia” comes from Sylvia, the name of the nymph who served her Diana , the Roman goddess of hunting and purity. The name also means "forest" in Latin.
So the Silvia is a rare Nissan model that was launched in 1964, at the Tokyo Motor Show. It's so rare that you'd imagine some of Nissan's oldest employees don't even know about it. Now, years later, Nissan is bringing the Silvia to life, (electrically) through a sketch edited by Matthew Weaver, Vice President of Nissan Design Europe who thinks the Nissan Silvia still deserves to be on the road!
nissan glory
Gloria (Japanese: 日産・Gloria) is a large car manufactured in 1959 by the Prince Motor Company and later by Nissan Motors when these two companies merged. That is why it was first released as Prince Gloria and later as Nissan Gloria. Prince Automotive Industry inspired the name from the Latin word "Glory" which translates into Greek as "glory".
In April 1959, the first Gloria was presented as an anniversary gift for the wedding of the Crown Prince and future Emperor of Japan. In January 2000, Autech released a 40th anniversary edition of the Gloria, and in October 2004, production of the Gloria ceased, after 46 years.
