2023 proved to be an important year for the SUV market in Greece, as an increase in sales was observed compared to previous years. Based on the data provided by SEAA (Hellenic Automobile Dealers Association), looking at the categories of SUVs, we can distinguish the most popular options on the market.
Overall, SUVs performed exceptionally well, with the Toyota Yaris Cross leading sales with 4.681 registrations. They were followed by the Suzuki Vitara with 3.587 registrations and the Peugeot 2008 with 2.864 classifications. The likes of Volkswagen, BMW and Ford also had an impressive presence, showing their dynamism in the SUV market.
By category, the options are differentiated according to the needs and preferences of consumers. In the A SUV category, the Toyota Aygo X stood out with 1.684 registrations, while in the B SUV category the Toyota Yaris Cross confirmed its popularity with 4.681 registrations.
In the C SUV category, the BMW X1 took the top spot with 2.515 registrations, while in the D SUV segment, the Tesla Model Y managed to attract interest with 1.064 registrations, showing the ever-growing popularity of electric vehicles.
In the E SUV category, the Range Rover Sport had the least number of registrations compared to other categories, with 227 registrations. Finally, in the F and G SUV categories, the Volvo XC90 stood out with 167 registrations, although this category had the fewest sales overall.
It is obvious that the SUV market in Greece is constantly evolving, with consumers looking for vehicles that offer a combination of performance, comfort and technology. The variety of options makes it clear that every consumer can find the ideal SUV that will satisfy their needs and their style. With the emergence of new technologies and increasing attention to environmental sustainability, it is expected that the SUV market will continue to evolve and adapt to the needs of consumers and the environment.
